Inter-School Competition - 2nd Prize

It was a Thiruppaavai Thiruvempaavai Competition held on 10.01.15 at Suburban High School, Coimbatore. It is organized by "Thiruppaavai Thirvempaavai Committee, Ram Nagar, Coimbatore" and this is 40th year competition.

27 schools and 490 students participated totally ranging from LKG till XII Std. For 1st standard, students have to recite 2 thiruppaavai & 2 thiruvempaavai slokas. Manu was already knowing 3 slokas, as it was taught in school and only one I had to make her practice. For 1st standard, around 50 students would have participated. They gave out 4 prizes each for first, second, third & consolation winners. And Manu won 2nd prize.

But I seriously feel for just 4 slokas (1st Std), this strophy looks puffed up. But it is very obvious that the committee wants to encourage the winners in a strong way, as it is the best way to endorse 'Thiruppaavai & Thivempaavai' among students.
